Quarantine Cooking Episode 6: Butter Shortbread

Butter Shortbread

  • 225 g all purpose or bread flour
  • 75 g sugar
  • 150 g butter, soft
  • 1 vanilla bean (optional)
  • sugar (for finishing)
  1. Preheat oven to 350F

  2. Combine all dry ingredients

  3. Fold in butter until a dough forms

  4. Using plastic wrap, press dough into 1/2" thick slab

  5. Freeze for 5 minutes

  6. Remove from freezer and cut into desired shapes

  7. Bake 20-30 minutes or until desired color is achieved

  8. Cool and store in an airtight container
